With week 1 completed at the Swansway Head Office, I am really looking forward to moving into the dealership and start using the tools and software that I've been provided to create content for VW in Crewe.

On the first day, I was introduced to my colleagues that I'd be completing this apprenticeship with. Initially I was very nervous about meeting these people, however we instantly knew we were all in the same situation and are getting on really well. Their dealerships include SEAT in Crewe, VW Van Centre in Liverpool and Audi in Carlisle. We were introduced to the HR team who gave us a guided tour around the Swansway Head Office, here we met many different people within their different departments. The week consisted of a lot of learning with new people. We spent time understanding different aspects of marketing including GDPR, E-Clincher, the history of each brands and how to ensure we are FCA compliant. We also met two of the original apprentices who were 4 months into their apprenticeship where we made notes of their handy tips and tricks for when we first got to our dealerships. On the final day of our first week, we had the chance to visit the Auto Trader head office, here we spoke to graduates there on how to navigate through the Dealer Portal on Auto Trader.
With my business manager being on annual leave for the week, I was based in head office again for the second week.
I felt as though this was a great opportunity to explore the different websites and platforms I’d be using and begin to go through some social media bits with Marketing Executive, Tom. I decided to create a social media plan to start off the takeover of the Crewe VW account. During a meeting with Tom, we discussed the different events going on in VW over the next few weeks, which I could post about including the new spring health check and also the T-cross event happening this weekend. As I’d be at Escalla for week 3, I decided to plan and schedule these posts in advance. I wanted to start as I meant to go on therefore, I felt as though this was the best way of starting the takeover. Towards the end of the week, I was asked to attend a meeting with the marketing team to discuss how we were going to potentially encourage growth on our Instagram pages.
I've really enjoyed working with the marketing team at head office this week. I'm really looking forward to regrouping with the other apprentices and seeing what they've been up to. I also can't wait to go to the dealership now and begin using the tools I've been given to begin creating more content.
