Settling back into the business from Christmas break, I was set another target from Andy. This time a far more challenging target which in fairness, I was quite worried about. This involved me utilising the sales executives in the walk around videos which are attached to vehicle adverts rather than using the silent method on the vision application. Miscommunication between the team meant that all videos that I had previously done, had been deleted. This meant a lot of work for myself as originally this target was more of a plan to ease this video change, using this method on new stock, rather than starting from scratch. Because of this, I had a whole stock list of videos that needed to be done as nothing had videos attached to the advert. I started this mammoth task by simply printing off a stock sheet in age order. It is important that older stock had their videos done first compared to those that had only been in stock for a couple of days. Once I had this to hand, I was then able to collect all peg numbers for the cars. This would ensure that the productivity and efficiency remained high during the execution of the videos as multiple sets of keys could be located rather than going in and out to the key board after each one. The managers also pushed for the bulk of these to be done during the morning sales meetings so from that point of view, I had tremendous support. If I was ever going to hit this target, I’d need the help of the Sales Executives. A couple of the lads were incredibly helpful, with two spending several afternoons with me.
This week, there has been another handful of staff who have been accredited by Volkswagen. Like last time, I wanted to celebrate this great achievement, so used it on Facebook. This again received a great reception with a really good amount of likes. I have realised that posts about staff work really well. Whether that be an accreditation award, long service award, national receptionist day or even just a talky walkthrough with one of our executives, our audience likes to see our staff. Which in my opinion, is lovely to see!
